Select 711 is a carbon steel electrode for flux cored welding with an external shielding gas. This electrode is intended for single and multiple-pass welding of carbon and certain low alloy steels where a minimum tensile strength of 70,000 psi is required. The recommended shielding gas is 75 percent Argon/25 percent Carbon Dioxide, but it may also be used with 100% CO2.

APPLICATIONS: The positive arc transfer and excellent bead shape make Select 711 a superb choice for general purpose, flux cored welding of steels requiring a minimum of 70,000 psi tensile strength. Typical applications include structural steel, farm machinery, construction equipment, and general carbon steel fabrication.

DIAMETERS: .035", .045", .052", 1/16"

SHIELDING GAS: 100% CO2, 75% Ar/25% CO2, 35-50 cfh

WELDING POSITIONS: All positions

CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Produces excellent horizontal fillets.
  • Combines good arc drive with outstanding bead shape.
  • Smooth and stable arc transfer with low spatter emission.
  • Well washed, smooth bead with straight toe lines.
